Claudine Martin-Nunez
Board of Directors
San Joaquin Intertribal Heritage Educational Corporation

Claudine, a member Mono Nation and the Mono Museum, has a long history of working with Native American Organizations and the community. As a volunteer with SJRIHEC, she is responsible for helping gather and piece together all the notes, thoughts and needs put on scraps of paper and hundreds of files to make the new Learning Center at Chawanakee School a reality. She is a strong, dedicated Native woman that is the epitome of what a role model should be. She has spent a lifetime working with the Native community, youth groups and families.

Claudine has worked the last 4 years at a Tribal Consortium as a Youth Educator. She has worked at various Indian Health Centers with youth and their families. Her responsibilities include substance abuse prevention counseling, classes on anger management, parenting and nutritional programs.

Claudine was not just taught Indian arts and crafts, gathering and food preparation; she still uses those skills and is passing them down to her family. Claudine is currently working on additional curriculum for the Learning Center and is the Director for the Program to Preserve the Mono Language.
